| Description | Indicates the configured protection mode, steering or wrapping, in a MAC that supports both modes. If wrap configured bit is set, the station will perform wrap protection during ring failures. If the station detects another station on the ring that has a protection configuration that conflicts with its own, the station will generate a defect to higher layers. Default value for wrap preferred is false for steering only stations, and true for stations that implement wrapping. |
